Welcome to Kervegan Bihan

Kervegan Bihan is a former farm in North Brittany that has been converted into holiday accommodation and is situated in about 1.25 acres, surrounded by farmland and small woods. The property comprises four gites, the Farm Cottage and the original Farm House which are semi-detached and The Stables and Coach House which are detached; parts of which are reputed to date back to the 15th century.

Features

Farm cottage interior The four gites are grouped around a central courtyard and lawned area and have been tastefully renovated to a high standard to retain many of their original features including exposed granite walls, beamed ceilings and huge stone fire places. The lounges in the Farm Cottage, Stables and Coach House are fitted with log burning stoves while the Farm House has a large open fireplace. All lounges have comfortable easy chairs and sofas, satellite television (receives all UK terrestial and non-subscription channels), DVD players, a range of board games and a selction of books for those who plan on being less energetic.

Kitchens in all gites were recently refitted and have four burner gas hobs, electric fan overns, extractor hoods, dishwashers (not Farm Cottage), fridge freezers, microwave ovens, electric kettles, coffe making machines and toasters. There is also ample crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.

The ground floor in all gites is of open plan design partly to help mums avoid being separated from their families when preparing meals.

Relax by the pool

Heated swimming poolIn the grounds is a ten metre covered heated swimming pool which is fully alarmed with a lockable access door to help ensure the safety of younger guests. The pool has Roman steps and a depth ranging from 1.35m to 1.65m which is sufficiently deep for adults to swim and shallow enough for the supervision and paying with younger guests. Each gite has its own private lawned area with a barbecue, patio table and chairs, and sun loungers. Also in the grounds is a boules pitch, basket ball hoop with surrounding paved area, and a swing, slide and rocker for young guests.

Kervegan Bihan is situated in the beautiful north Brittany countryside, 2.5km from the small town of Plouaret. The sandy beaches of St Efflam and St. Michel-en-greve are about a 15 minute drive away. The Rose Granite coast, with its stunning rock formations, beaches and bays are all within a 35 minute drive and are easily reached. Also in easy reach are numerous attractions including adventure parks, a zoo, steam train rides, aquariums and many local markets which offer a huge range of goods, French bread, cheeses, sea food and fresh local produce.

There are seafood restaurants at Locquirec, Tregastel, Perros-Guirec as well as many other more general restaurants in these and other nearby towns. There are also opportunities to explore a chateau and its grounds, cycle along quiet country lanes and bridalways around Kervegan Bihan are ideal for families to walk or cycle as traffic is almost totally confined to vehicles from neighbouring homes, the daily Poste van and tractors from adjoining farms.

Kervegan Bihan is a popular base for cycling groups from the UK who find the venue ideally situated for cycling over a range of terrains.

Plouaret is on the national rail network, and it is possible to take the small local train to Lannion, the nearest large town, or the TGV to Paris, Rennes or Brest. These cities can be visited by train on a 'day trip' basis. The journey time to Paris is approximately 3hrs 45 mins, while Rennes and Brest are about an hour or so away and are well worth a visit.
